Is there a natural remedy for fine & thinning hair?

I have extremely fine, dry hair that is now thinning and falling out. I'm afraid to use products with chemicals and would like to find a more natural means of thickening and growing more hair.

Is there a natural remedy for fine %26amp; thinning hair?

Hi . I am a hairstylist and would like you to answer some questions first. Do you take any medication for high blood pressure? Are you in a high stress job? Do you color your hair with home products? These can affect your hair., also the way you take care of the hair is also important. Hair should be brushed starting from the ends to the scalp with a soft to medium natural bristle brush. Shampooing in luke warm or cool water, rinse well and gently towell blot. Apply a small amount of conditioner to the ends first working up the hair and not necessarily all the way to the scalp.if it is long (below the shoulder) put it up in a clipand cover with a shower cap. if you are in the shower, wait until you are done with your shower and rinse with cool water.Gently squeeze out the water with a dry towel making sure you don't ruffup the hair . Come frome the ends to the scalp in sections with a wide tooth comb. If you use a blow dryer ,flatiron, curling iron , use a heat protectant styling product to prevent damage to the hair. A product line I would reccomend would be Pureology. I contains no harmful chemicals such as sulfites, propelene glycol , cocamide dea, which cause cancer and are dangerous chemicals. Also Bath and Body works carry a line of organic products that are very good. You should select a volumizing product line, Use these products sparingly including the shampoo as they may not suds as well as chemical products, but they are more concentrated .It may be good to check with a local healt or organic food store as sometimes they have products that are made with natural ingredients You cannot make your hair any thicker than it originall was, as ther eis no way to creat hair follicles , but you can prevent breakeage and damage by taking a little more care and time with your hair.. This will take time and patience , and you may respond to this with any questions you may have. Good luck, Michael

No, You don't say if your a man or woman, but if your a man, there is a remedy for not looking like you have fine thinning hair. Shave your head. Go Bald. Its okay to just use clippers and have a little stubble even. Its maintenance free, and in these modern times when there is no "in style", only "personal style", its quite acceptable. And as an added bonus, if you shave your head and then go out and buy yourself a tailored suit for at least $1000, whenever you wear it, you'll look like you come from the future.

Honey, DO NOT GOT it cut in layers!! NO NO!! a short bob--or chin length blunt cut.... ALL ONE LENGTH ONLY layer/feather around your face a veryyyyy Little. IF it is long enough to put up in a wee pony tail... use one of the cute curly little hair pieces on an elastic ban to put it up with...(get at most SALLY'S or beauty supply house). Saves the wear and tear on your hair. They are cute and fun.. GOOD LUCK

I'm going to get my hair thinned...?

What are they going to do? How exactly can they thin my hair? What will they use? Is it unhealthy for my extremely thick long hair?

I'm going to get my hair thinned...?

they will either use a razor, or thinning shears.

DO NOT let them use the razor on your hair, ASK for the thinning shears.

Razors make you have split ends and makes your hair look frizzy.

It is healthy , when they use the thinning shears.they will pull up your hair in pieces/chunks and thin as they go along. Its an amazing feeling , I love getting my hair thinned.

I'm going to get my hair thinned...?

dont worry its not unhealthy for your hair. it will make your hair more manageable. all they will do is use something like sissors and cut away! within a few months your hair will be thich again if you want it back that way!

FOR LADIES: What do you think about thinning hair?

I have dark hair and I"m thinning at the crown making the white scalp more visible. I went to a REALLY expensive stylist and he said to cut it an inch thick but not to put any highlights in it. Some girls have said to add highlights, some have said to shave it bald, some have said to put on a dark filler like eye shadow on the scalp, others have said it's not a huge deal. My question is this: HOW MUCH DOES THINNING AT THE CROWN TURN A GIRL OFF? WHAT SHOULD I DO???

FOR LADIES: What do you think about thinning hair?

Depends on your age for sure.

Do not get a hiar transplant, that's totally gross.

Do not do any sort of comb over, see above.

Do not color your scalp-- imagine their response when it starts to rub off!

Dying your hair, even the same color, makes your hair seem thicker-- that may cover it up some.

If you have darker hair, it may keep you looking young- even if you have a bald spot. Try dying it, dont go bald.

Good Luck!

Depends on the age. Under 30, it would be a problem for me.

FOR LADIES: What do you think about thinning hair?

From your name im guessing your a fair bit older then me... and are not going for 21yr old girls like me... women your age are probably not bothered by thinning hair... and in all honesty.. hair doesnt turn me on or off.. its the person.

DEFINITLY DO NOT USE EYESHADOW... thats just wrong. Id say go with what the stylist suggested. they know best.

FOR LADIES: What do you think about thinning hair?

Thinning hair is a bit of a turn off, unless you shave it all off. I've known a few guys who were hot with shaved heads...I didn't even realize they were balding

FOR LADIES: What do you think about thinning hair?

I have been doing hair for several years and have a masters in teaching cosmetologist. The best product on the market for hair thinning is Nixon you can check on it at a regis hairstylist. It will expand your hair strands and make your scalp healthier so your hair can grow back. It really works great. My husbands brother started using it and his hair has gotten alot thicker. Good Luck

My boyfriend has thinning hair....I think it's kind of cute actually. It's how you wear it actually, it's just hair.....or wear a hat!

My thick naturally curly hair has gone straight and thin this year. How could this have happened?

some peoples hair naturally changes as they get older or have a baby will sometimes change your hair type

My thick naturally curly hair has gone straight and thin this year. How could this have happened?

well, maybe because of the weather or the shampoo you use, or in case if you use lukewarm water when taking a bath, this also causes it to happen.

My thick naturally curly hair has gone straight and thin this year. How could this have happened?

maybe the kind of conditioner or somethin

Try using a curl enhancing moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, sounds like your hair is just dried out or over processed.

My hair is thinning?

ive always had thick hair..well lately its been feeling thin..i do use a straightner quite often..and i also blow dry my hair before i straighten it...could that have something to do with my hair thinning out?..when im in the shower and washing my hair..i run my hand through my head and hair comes out..not alot...but some..any suggestions on what i should do?..thanks

My hair is thinning?

What I think would be helpful for you is to take a vitamin supplement. The best combination vitamin for your hair is a (hair/skin/nails) vitamin this you can get at any vitamin store. Another important vitamin that can help you from hair shedding is a vitamin called (Biotin) this is usually taken at a dose of 5000mcg for hair loss. You can also purchase these vitamins off the Internet. I would say to take these two vitamin supplements should cost you no more than $25 a month or less. Also using a hair thickening shampoo and conditioner will help you achieve that thicker hair you have lost.

Cut down on how much you apply heat to your hair. Thats the reason why your hair is falling out. Make sure you condition your hair really good.

My hair is thinning?

i have the same problem but i cant stop straightening my hair, because if i dont it looks bad! :(

Is thinning hair a serious problem?

when i was younger i used to have very thick hair.

but now i'm a teenager and my hair has thinned out a lot.

i heard i might have a hormonal problem.

any suggestions?

Is thinning hair a serious problem?

You could have your thyroid tested. Have them do an indepth testing on it. My overall testing was good, but I ended up having antibodies attacking my thyroid. I suffer from hair loss

Do you take birth control? I started taking them when I was a teenager and I am convinced that they made my hair fall out.

Bordeline underactive thyroid and tatty thinning hair??help!?

hey

i got diagnosed with a borderline underactive thyroid, my mum and grandmother had this also, and was told meds were unnecessary until i have a retest in 6 months.. i guess the thyroid can heal itself?

meanwhile, i am taking kelp and silica because my hair is thinning at the back. i dyed it from red to black to blonde in a few months so i guess its a bit wrecked but at the moment it is frizzy course and dull looking. is there anything i can do? im kinda paranoid about it

thanks :)

Bordeline underactive thyroid and tatty thinning hair??help!?

Hairloss is usually a sign of low T3 levels in those that are hypothyroid. The kelp may or may not help, but one thing its going to do is throw of the next batch of blood tests and it may stop you from getting on thyroid meds once again. Being a little bit hypothyroid is like being a little bit pregnant. Changes are hapening in your body well before the TSH level goes over range. The longer the condition goes without treatment, the worse the problem. I am hypothyrod and my first test came out normal and my symptoms got worse. Eventually 9 months later I got diagnosed thankfully.

A TSH over 2.0 is causing damage within the body, but most doctors will not treat until its above 3.0. Then there are other doctors going by the outdated range of 5.5. When you retest, make sure its in the morning only, as an afternoon test is worthless. Think seriously about the kelp. I am on kelp, but slowly switching to iodine. However, I got my thyroid levels correct first on Armour thyroid before I added any iodine.
