Front of hair thinning? What can I do?

OK; lets get one thing straight. Androgenetic alopecia does NOT run in my family. NO ONE in my family is bald. My dad is 64 and still has a lot of hair. Actually, my brother and myself tend to have very thick hair.

Anywho, the front of my hair (near the temples) I noticed that my hair was thinner than usual. But a couple of months later, my left temple is thick again, but my right temple still seems to be thin. What do you think is the problem? Why is my hair thinning there? Could it be because I sleep on that side of my head every night? I also have G6PD if that helps.

P.S. Please do not recommend seeing a doctor... I'm poor.

ok...thinning of hair can be caused from alot of different reasons. gentics in your case, not being one of them. these might be some reasons. 1. stress and your temples are a high stess zone. 2. hormones. 3.what you are doing to it. if you had been pulling or styling your hair one direction for a long period of time that will put stress on those follicles and cause the hair not to grow. i suggest that you try a scalp treatment because manipulations will stimulate the follicles increasing the blood circulation to that area. which will make your hair grow. avoid pulling it back if you can help it. also a great shampoo for scalp stimulation is Nioxxin.

Even if it doesn't run in your family, YOU may have high androgen levels or may be sensitive to testosterone. You can check for the latter condition -- if your ring fingers are longer than your index fingers you've got "male" pattern fingers and your body is programmed to respond readily to testosterone.
