Thinning out your hair...???

I am wondering if getting my hair thinned out is a good idea. It isn't necesarily thick, but just really full and big...especially when my hair drys after a shower.

I went to my hair dressers a month ago and asked for it thinned, but he said that layers will have the same effect. Now, I don't really want layers, but i still want thinner hair.

Would thinning have a good effect on my hair? Are there any other ways of having less poofy hair without getting it thinned?

Thanks so much!

I also have thick hair. A week ago I got my hair cut and i didnt ask for my hair to be thined out and she did thin it out anyways. BAD BAD BAD idea!!

My hair is soulder length and i have layers and it look horrible!

Trust me you do not want super thin hair! It does not have any volume and will fall flat on your head. That is what happened to my. Unless your hair is really long and a little bit bulky stay away from thinning it!

It was a horrible hair cut for me!

Enjoy your thick, big full hair.

Just get some layers and you will be good to go,

hope that helps!

Actually, you should try layers. Thats the only way to make your hair more thin! And layers are very cute! Besides, u dont want thin hair. It sometimes looks scraggly or wahtever.

um..getting you hair thinned is getting layers. The layers are just specifically put to make your hair apear thinner so it easier to manage and can be styled more effectively.

I would try staightining it. Then if you aren't satified layer it!

actually getting ur hair thinned is not a good idea. First when u get it thinned it will look good for about a month. but after that, the hair will start growing out and will look so unnatural and weird.

Layers have a very similar effect to thinning. It also look very pretttyy, and much better than getting it thinned.

straightening also makes it less poofy. It weighs down ur hair. if ur hair is already straight, u can still straighten it.

Ok my best friends mom is a a hair stylist. Her basement is converted into a whole studio salon. She thinned out my hair. I HATED IT! She did a good job, but it was so much harder to style it. I had to tease a lot.
