I'm just 22 but my hair is super thin. It bothers me alot. I'm taking protein power ( for sport) because i heard that protein helps hair to grow. I'm also taking vitamin E and Biotin. Is there any way to make hair thicker? Does coconut oil help? Please help me, i feel so terrible about my hair. Thanks a lot.

I am 34 I had thin hair too. I stopped perming and just texturized when my hair got too nappy. It is for short hair but will straighten out longer hair. I also was told about protein. I used protein gel and wore my hair back in a ponytail. I also leave the conditioner in my hair and let it air dry. wrapped up in a bun. I had thin short hair. what I have now is hair down to my arm pits that is thick and grows back fast. My sister in laws always hate on it but they are not willing to stop perming, curling and flat ironing their hair. I also try to brush my hair as little as possible. Brushing pulls out your hair. When you wash your hair wash you comb and brush too. A dirty brush and comb will pull out your hair too. You have to find what works for your hair. If you notice most people with natural hair have thicker hair than the permed heads. I was not willing to go all the way natural so I do the texturizer and it works for me. I can't do all of the styles that I would like with my hair but when I do drop it down and style it up I love it and my hubby likes me with lotta lotta nice hair.

There only a few things that you can do. One you can have some hair follices transplanted from a thick place to a thin place. This is expensive. You could take some vitamins for hair and nails or prenatal vitamins. Report It

I know pantene volumizing products work great but I'm sure that there's a salon product that works better.You should try going to your beauty store and see what they can help you with.

Coconut oil does help but dont put it on when its hot outside because your head will feel like its on fire

I put up with thin hair my whole life and don't think it's going to change. I've heard about horse main shampoo but never tried it. I think the protien powder may help your hair grow long but whether or not it will make it thicker is beyond me. One thing I do know is that turning your head upside down while blow drying does make it LOOK thicker, at least for awhile. Good luck! :)

Try scalp massage with warm olive oil. (pure olive oil) Do it twice a week. Massage for about 13min and leave the oil in for 30 mins then wash it out. Stimulate the hair follicles.

My girlfriend who worked at a solen told me you can take pre-natal vitamins or you can use a product line called nioxin which is made for thinning hair. It should help with thickening hair.

sorry there is NO way to make hair thicker or to make hair grow...consuming calcium and protein make hair stronger and shinier but not thicker.....if i were you i would get a perm, that would make your hair have more body.

Try getting layers to make it look thicker, you could also try clip in extensions for body but that could be a pain...

Try the YELLOW sunsilk products intended for anti-flat... I use the pink because my hair is disgusting and dry from bleaching it and it works great.

Also, try blowdrying it with a round brush to add volume. Check the links below for more suggestions.

Has your hair always been thin?

If so, not much you can do.

If not and you are losing it - then there are many more questions... like has your diet changed? Does baldness run in the family? Are you taking medication that might have that as a side effect? And so on. You might want to visit a family doctor.

You should try a thickening paste combined with a mousse to make your hair thicker. I also think that ,besides vitamins, your best bet is to avoid damaging your hair from the elements ( blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons, and chlorine from swimming pools). Good Luck!
