Thinning hair normal?

Ever since I got pregnant my hair has thinned, fallen out in the front and looks horrible. I'm perfectly heatlhy, take prenatal vitamins and eat healthy. No sickness at all with pregnancy. I don't want to call my doc and bug him over something like this but I suppose I should. Any ideas?

It is normal for this to happen due to the hormone changes in your body. Once the baby is born and your hormone levels go back to normal, your hair will start growing in normal again. Sometimes the dr has suggustions on what vitiamins to take to make your hair stronger. I would bring it up at your next appt.

it's normal, mine does the same thing and it will pass.

I didn't have this problem when I was pregnant but is there a hair style or cut that will work for you?

Hormones do wacky things to a pregnant woman's body. Usually it makes hair thicker, but thinning shouldn't be anything to worry about. I wouldn't call your doctor for just this, but bring it up at your next appointment.

Yes, its normal. lt's part of the hormonal changes taking place in our bodies. lt will get back to normal a few months after delivery.

You can tell it to your doctor. She may recommend something you can use.

hormones. You lose a ton of hair when, and after your pregnant.

its generally not this severe though.

I am 40 yrs old, and I pull out a brush full of hair everyday... but...nonetheless, would ask my dr anyways....Better safe than sorry...

Usually, pregnant women are supposed to see an increase in hair and nail growth, I know I did for all my pregnancies. Maybe you should consult a dermatologist, not your GYN.
